Volunteers are the beating heart of many social initiatives. Labor Office of the Island Government and Oranje Fonds show with StatiaDoet how important active citizens are for society. Not a volunteer yet? During Doet you can experience how much fun volunteering can be. For organizations, it’s a great opportunity to get some extra work done — and of course, to attract new volunteers! Doet takes place every year on the 3rd weekend of May. In 2026, that will be on May 15 & 16.

About Oranje Fonds

Oranje Fonds works towards a society where everyone can participate and no one is left alone. We strive for an involved society: where people care for each other, have equal opportunities, and feel connected to their community. We do this by supporting and connecting social initiatives. Social initiatives can apply to Oranje Fonds for financial support or take part in one of our programs, such as Cariben Doet. We provide not only funding, but also knowledge and access to our network. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima are the patrons of Oranje Fonds.

The DOET TEAM regularly sends out press releases and schedules interviews. This way, you can hear directly from organizations, companies, and volunteers about their experiences with DOET.

During the event days, the press is warmly welcome. We also provide an overview of all projects, so you can see them for yourself.
